Great Lakes Day in Washington: March 7, 2007
The Great Lakes Commission, in conjunction with the Northeast-Midwest
Institute, will host the special annual event, Great Lakes Day in
Washington, on Wednesday, March 7, 2007. Elected and appointed officials
from Great Lakes states, and stakeholders from across the region will join
with members of Congress and staff to look closely at the needs of the Great
Lakes region and opportunities for action on a legislative agenda. Join us
in Washington as we discuss the issues facing the world's greatest
freshwater resource.
The day's events will begin with the Great Lakes Congressional Reception
from 8:00-9:15 a.m. in Room B-339/340 of the Rayburn House Office Building,
featuring remarks by invited members of Congress. A continental breakfast
will be served. In the afternoon, teams of representatives from the Great
Lakes Commission and other stakeholders from across the region will conduct
a series of congressional office visits.
Contact: Jon MacDonagh-Dumler at 734-971-9135 or jonmacd@glc.org.
